Welcome to the 4th instalment in our special presentation 'Making of an Album', where Andy and Nick break down the details on music making in the 2020's, and how easy it is to do now. So far they have covered writing, and now they are going to skip over all the technical stuff and just make an album in a month for you over the next two episodes of this special presentation. There is good reason for this, Nick and Andy are creative musicians that know how to use recording equipment, they are not qualified to teach anyone anything about these things, so rather then blag it, they have focused on the process of making an album as an experience rather then the finer details of recording.

Cosmic Bos Making of an Album Episode 4: Making an Album in a Month (Part 1)

For the month of May 2022 Cosmic Bos took on the 'Album in a Month' challenge put on by Lights and Lines Independent record label, and subsequently produced a 12 track album called '2 A.M, it's Mission Time', which is out now

Wisely, throughout the album in a month process, Andy kept a diary of what was going on, and the Brothers filmed all of the recording session so that ample video footage of the album creation existed. You can see some of this already in the video's we put out for 'Isle of Avalon', 'Money Pwease' and 'Whatever You Say It Is, It Isn't'.

This podcast represents the first half of both the album, and the diary kept for the month, and takes you through the first half of what we did. There will be an accompanying blog to this episode which will have more waffle about it should you wish to read more.

Here is the Summer of Bos July 2022 Cosmic Bos Music Podcast presentation, in full.

Lots of fun stuff to unpack for your summer Bos holiday. Our Judges Choice Award winning album '2 A.M, it's Mission Time' will be out on the 19th August. 

Before that though, we have a new single coming 2nd August (maybe a day or two before) with a video, it's called 'Money Pwease' and is about spiritual con artists and how easy it is to scam the masses with flashes and platitudes.

You can hear a sneak peak of the opening track in this podcast presentation, the track is called 'Re:Mission' and is about the competition itself, and what it means to take on a challenge.

We are also scheduling up some live streaming events, so stay tuned for gigs you can go to without going anywhere. 

And of course there is all our TikTok Filter song shenanigans which are taking place across the Summer of Bos.

Also in August, to coincide with our album release, we will put out the next part of the Making of an Album series, Episode 4 - Recording an Album, where we will breakdown how we made our album in a month submission. This will be followed by a special documentary film we have commissioned (as in, we are going to make it ourselves) in September and that will mark the end of the Summer of Bos.

Wow that took a while to get through, and there are plenty more unmentioned locations too, I just don't have the time to list them all, I'm busy making the most of the amazing UK beach weather at the moment.

Cosmic Bos pick up a Judges Choice Award in the Album Writing Club competition

 Hello lovely you,

So good news, we (Cosmic Bos) won a Judges Choice award in the Album Writing Club challenge put on by Lights and Lines record label. 

We are chuffed to bits, and it's been so enlightening to connect in with so many other fantastic musicians, and we hope to get to work with many of them in the future. Thanks so much Lights and Lines for putting the whole thing on.

Anyway, as we didn't pick up the top 'Record Contract' prize, we are left to our own devises to release this album we made in a month.

And as we were in the middle of doing our Making of an Album podcast special, we are going to return to it, using this new album we done as the subject of the final parts of it.

So in August we are going to release the album '2 A.M, it's Mission Time' in full, on bandcamp and Spotify and youtube and everywhere else. With Episode 4 of Making of an Album being based around the diary I (Andy) kept during the month of May. In September we will aim for Episode 5 of MoaA to be the one about releasing an album, but that's ages away so we won't worry about that too much.
