It's been a busy time around the Cosmic Bos parts, so apologies for having not blogged much, it's a full time job just keeping up with all the musical shenanigans behind the scenes. Best place for regular updates from us would be YouTube. Anyway, here's our EP for Bandcamp Friday, MMC 1.3 - Ignorance
If you buy it today we get all the money, Bandcamp waver their fees for this special day, so please consider supporting us if you enjoy what we do, it really is a labour of love for us.
We put together a little YouTube short that gives you a little snippet of all 5 songs from the EP, and also a handy link to our youtube channel Cosmic Bos YouTube Link
MMC 1.3 - Ignorance EP has been a fun one to put together, Nick and I (Andy) set ourselves an extra task with our Monthly tune of making something that didn't have a chorus, and our song 'Idiots' did just that, as well as giving us the chance to split vocal duties and have a section each, with me leading the first half and Nick leading the second part, also the inclusion of my Beavis and Butthead impression just because why not hey!
The other 4 songs were all made for the Music Weeklies hashtags of March
Down for the Upside was for the #UpsideDown challenge - I wanted to write something that switched things up a bit and bought some positive uplift, and well, this some came out of it.
Gods and Goddesses of Olympus was for the #GodsOfOlympus challenge, and it's pretty self explanatory what I did here, initially I was only going to write about Hermes and Aphrodite giving birth to Hermaphroditus, but the more research I did the more it started to feel like epic film versions of reality TV, so it ultimately ended up as a run down of the main players.
Reflections of our Inescapable Humanity (No soup for you) was for the #MW200thTheme challenge, where we were allowed to pick from any of the 199 other hashtags previously run by them, I initially went with #Humanity but as the song progressed it became much more of a #SitcomTheme song about Seinfeld and how much I love that show.
Finally, Ivory and Ebony was for the #PianoSolo challenge, not being a pianist I had to think outside the box with this one, and went for a song about how the piano is a good metaphor for racial harmony and equality, music sees no skin colour.
We will make another lyric video to go with Idiots, to match our Nude Beginnings and Make Good Our Escape efforts, that will be with you soon too. In the meantime, you can see all the weekly produced vids that go with the above songs right here in this handy playlist
New Monthly Music Challenge episode out on Sunday, jam packed with juicy new music for you
Check out the previous episode if you have a spare couple of hours
So we made another music video, to go with our EP 'Virtual Normality' (which you can listen to in all good bookstores with wifi), this time to the song 'Take it Easier' (track 2 on the aforementioned EP), once again enlisting the A-List talents of Baby Theo, and this time persuading him to be all the musicians, and the singer, and the producer, basically do all our jobs for us. And, he did a wonderful jobs.
On the 18th of October, Baby Theo turned One Years old! and he is already writing and producing his own music, quite an achievement. But, this baby has been making music from before he was even born, with his heartbeat appearing on 'Ride Another Wave' from the Cosmic Bos EP 'Virtual Normality' (still available in all good coffee houses with wifi).
Utter legend that Theo, love him to bits.
This EP has been a fun adventure for Nick and myself (Andy), and we are very pleased with the result.
We are looking to take this one stage further next year with a full album of loveliness.
Big thanks to New Music Saturday for spinning every track from our EP, concluding with 'Take it Easier' on Saturday 23rd October. They have been so supportive over the last few years and we are eternally grateful to them. Also big shout out to Texmex Shaman for his excellent guitar work on Stay Inside.
Thanks for coming on this journey with us, we have some exciting stuff in store for the last couple of months of the year, so stay tuned.

Space Babies (Virtual Normality version)
The opening track on Cosmic Bos's new EP Virtual Normality
This song began life as an improvisation from our 3rd improv album of this year 'Summadelica', with a video idea in place while we were shooting the video for Space Babies improv version.
With the addition of the 1950's B Movie style intro, and the trimming of some of the music to fit it neatly into 4 minutes, Space Babies explores the concepts of life before life begins, were we all just Space Babies floating about before we came here to be Earth Babies? We like to think the answer is yes, and Baby Theo is attempting to return to that space, in some sense.
So come, marvel at the spectacular, the wondrous, the unbelievable... Babies...In....SPAAAACE!!!!!!
Here's the Youtube version
We have made a few TikTok promo's for the EP, focusing specifically on this song (to begin with, there are other songs prepped for later)
and...
Peace and infinite love

Baby Theo recognises a UFO when he sees one.
P.S - here is the Spotify embed of the whole Virtual Normality EP, just if you wanted to listen and follow and share etc.
So we have been squirrelling away on an EP for the past few months, it started life as just a couple of singles we wanted to put out, but it evolved into the 5 track Virtual Normality that will be available to listen to on the 1st October 2021 (of course, it wouldn't be 2022 would it! that would be too far away to be announcing now).

There are 5 tracks on it, opening with our reimagined version of Space Babies from our recent improvised sessions (complete with a new video coming with the EP), Take it Easier, It's Always You, Stay Inside (ft. Texmex Shaman), and finally Ride Another Wave.
Stay Inside was spun exclusively on New Music Saturday, you can hear it right here
We are really excited to share this with you, and it's been a long time since we recorded a proper record that wasn't in some way improvised. All these songs were written with pen and paper (and guitar obviously) and we hope they show you what we are capable of if given the time to make music.
We already have our next improvisation album recorded, it requires mixing and wisdoming, and that will be with you at the start of November, but for now it's time to get excited about Virtual Normality, take it away toys!
