We here at Cosmic Bos have been busy recording an EP (coming very soon), as well as our next Improvisation podcast, so plenty of new material coming up in the near future.
In between this though, we have been having jams on the beach with Kalimbas.
Kalimba Beach Jam #1
Kalimba Beach Jam #2
Kalimba Beach Jam #3
It has been great fun playing the Kalimba, and it makes a big appearance in our next improvised album (which we've recorded already but not mixed yet, or worded up with wisdom).
Big thanks to Joe Philogene for being such a legend, he truly has made 2021 an exciting year of musical exploration and Cosmic Bos wouldn't be the same without him.
Coming Up next: An EP, some silliness in video form, and more.
Cosmic Bos presents Words of Wisdom 5: Charlie Chaplin
With improvised music provided by Cosmic Bos as part of Improvisation 3: Summadelica
The speech comes from Charlie Chaplin's film The Great Dictator (1940) and it is a zinger indeed, it's already done the rounds on the internet many times, and it was always the plan to use it as one of our Words of Wisdom series, you can find the full film on the internet and youtube etc, it's well old and the copyright on it is dubious.
Check out our other words of wisdoms if you haven't already, and there are further ones to come from this very record including Nelson Mandela, Greta Thunberg and Ram Dass, it's a lot of wisdom I can tell ya.
The track and it's musical brothers can be found on Spotify
Please like, share, subscribe, help us get the wisdom out to the world, we love you
Peace and infinite love

On the 5th June 2021, Cosmic Bos met at a secret location to record the third in their fully improvised series, with a book full of pre-written lyrics and plenty of snacks. It was a wonderful afternoon of musical exploration, and here for your pleasure is the whole thing, including some of the intros and outros that usually get cut off, there is about 20 mins of it, that is not present on the album version.
The words of wisdoms for this episode where lovingly borrowed from YouTube, with Charlie Chaplin's speech being from the film The Great Dictator (1940) and available on youtube many times, with music accompanying it. Nelson Mandela's speech from his release from prison in 1990 also comes from youtube and shares far to many similarities to Chaplin's speech from 50 years before. Which leads us to Greta Thunberg from December 2019 addressing the UN on Climate Change, with echos of both Chaplin and Mandela.
So as not to feel too down and out about the state of the world and the people that patrol it, the final Words of Wisdom comes from Ram Dass, an ever reliable source of great wisdom. The full Ram Dass speech can be found on the Here and Now podcast, link to the specific episode right here.
Well, it's time for us to all get a little bit spacey and reconnect with our inner child, or inner baby, a bit of preverbal exploration of existence.

Space Babies - lyrics by Andy Jackson
Flying through space
Feel no air at my waist
The pressures are gone
Freedom swims along
Imagination
Mental elevation
Whole worlds shall dissolve
New empires unfold
It’s a game, we’re just playing
It’s a laugh, we’re all staying
These dragons all need slaying
We need truth, I’m just saying
Flying through space
Like a babies first taste
No sense letting the pressure
Stop exploring together
Imaginations
Create greater nations
Cooperating peacefully
Will be achieved eventually
It’s a game, we the players
It’s quite hard, entertain us
These dragons sent for slaying
Are our reason for staying
Space, need plenty of space
Babies gotta taste
For that infinite space
...
No Babies or Cows were adversely affected during the making of this video, however, one of the cows did spontaneously turn inside out yesterday, but that was nothing to do with the video, purely coincidental.
The idea for this video had been bouncing around the Cosmic Bos camp for a little while, originally it was to have been adults swimming in space, but when Theo came along and melted our hearts with his theodorableness it became a no brainer to get him to be our test subject for green screen based space flight, somewhat cheaper then Bezos, Branson and Musk, we managed to send Theo in to space without a rocket or a suit, and judging by his reactions he was loving his time floating round the cosmos meeting cows and aliens and just generally having a little swim in space.
The deeper meaning behind all this lovely babies in space stuff has to do with our very own entry points to this reality, could we all just be space babies that have plugged in to this 3D spectrum to have a human experience for a bit, before we return to space babiedom and find another playground to have an existential experience in? Maybe baby. Worth some pondering for sure.
As a baby, the possibilities remain infinite, it is only time and interactions that shape the infinite into the finite, crushing the language paradigm, the visual realm, the mental capability to do literally whatever you can imagine, all slowly moulded out of us. But, a Baby shows you this, and for a brief moment you can remember what it is like to be free of all pressure.
Find your inner space baby and go on an adventure, share this experience far and wide so that all can be reminded how amazing we all are really.
Peace and infinite love

Track 9 on Cosmic Bos Improvisation 2: Sunrise Reflections
Percussion - Joe Philogene
Electric Guitar and Backing Vocals - Nick Jackson
Acoustic Guitar and Vocals - Andy Jackson
Video by Nick and Andy Jackson
After a couple of sets of wise words from the almighty Ram Dass, Cosmic Bos come back to their musical roots and serve up a somewhat simple singer songwriter kinda song. With lyrics by Andy, the chaps came here for the fun, but stayed here for the feeling.
Stayed Here for the Feeling - Lyrics by Andy Jackson
Spread across the bed
While the mower’s in the shed
Gets dustier and rustier
Use paving stones instead
Lazy built an empire
And then slept through the day
Generations greatest gifts
Casually thrown away
But fun is what we came for
The feelings’ why we stayed
We’ll decimate the buffet
And likely misbehave
Yonder window sunset
Yesterday was better
Except for the pain we felt
So easy to forget her
Tomorrow could be easy
Or is that simply dreaming
Came here for the fun
But stayed here for the feeling
Today is all okay
This is time worth stealing
Came here for the fun
Stayed here for the feeling
...Thanks for listening/watching, we truly appreciate all your ears
Please like, share and subscribe, it means a lot
Also check out our podcast if you are so inclined.
After the Words of Wisdom 3 Ram Dass, the musical adventuring just didn't want to leave the wise guy alone, so for the next song, Ram Dass continues to dish out the tasty wisdom treats while the Bos chaps noodle away in a musical fashion.
Cosmic Bos improved the music, and they are:
Percussion - Joe Philogene
Electric Guitar, Synth and Vocals - Nick Jackson
Acoustic Guitar and Vocals - Andy Jackson
This song is track 8 in the Cosmic Bos Improvisation 2: Sunrise Reflections album, which is available from all good music streaming venues, please take your pick
This song is a direct follow on from Words of Wisdom 3, as the music began to swell a vocal called out 'Be Here Now', and the whirlwind swirled us all in, and Ram Dass had to stop talking so the music could take over, and that is how this song was born.
Here is our embedded podcast page from Spotify, please follow us till the end of time.
Be Here Now is one of Ram Dass's central thesis's, and truly a reflection of what we have been doing here at Cosmic Bos with our improvisation podcast project.
Ram Dass samples taken from Here and Now podcast, full episode link here
Track 6 of our Sunrise Reflections is the magical Feel the World
The 6th outing from Cosmic Bos Improvisation 2: Sunrise Reflections is the beautiful song Feel the World, accompanied by some stunning nature photography.
Percussion and Vocals - Joe Philogene
Electric Guitar and Backing Vocals - Nick Jackson
Acoustic Guitar and Backing Vocals - Andy Jackson
Feel the World - lyrics by Joe Philogene
One Heart,
One Soul,
One Mind
Feel the World
Utilising a selection of percussive instruments (including the spinny round the head wwoooooo making thing) Joe leads the chant to Mother Earth, and we spend some time in the relaxing forest making sweet fairy music for all of the wonders that surround us.
Cosmic Bos are big fans of the World, it's pretty neat, and we think that it deserves more attention, some more songs about it, especially after all it's done for us. We are somewhat ungrateful children to the Earth, and it really is time we tidied our room before the threat of no dinner becomes an actuality.
Spend time outside, go and feel the world in your lungs, let the bird song enrich your soul, let the breeze tickle your senses, and remember that we are all part of the same thing, we are all in this together (cough, Mr Bezos!).
Please subscribe to our channel and ding the bell for updates
We also have a podcast where the improvised musical adventure takes place every month.
The first proper thing after sunrise, we have to start making decisions.
Wow, not sure we made such good decisions there...
Cover for the full album

Electric Guitar, Synth and Backing Vocals - Nick Jackson
Acoustic Guitar and Vocals - Andy Jackson

Lyrics - Bad Decisions by Andy Jackson
The teacher is having a breakdown
Technology dulled all the skills
Always on a digital playground
Hormones regulated by pills
It’s just a ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba
Mosaic by Abi Jackson
Bad decisions,
It’s a ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba
Bad decisions
It’s a natural disaster in progress
Slowly robotising us all
We’re more like an app on an tablet
Rather then a brick in a wall
CHORUS
Actions reduced to just pixels
Emotions switched out for a meme
All the thumbs up on a status
Seduced by the notes on the screen
CHORUS
The doctor is having a break now, she’s been on her feet for a week
While pompous pricks go on a pow-wow, Continue the causing the bleak
CHORUS
- So there you have it, the first full step into the great wide musical world of Cosmic Bos, the sun has risen and we are exploring what there is to offer out in the great wide world.
Joe provides an awesome Ngoni rhythm for Nick and Andy to noodle over, and reflecting on the times in which we now live, the teachers and doctors are given the spotlight for a moment, let's hope we listen to them and don't just go and do some stupid nonsense instead...
Drones galore in this one, coming out of buildings, zooming through forests, over beaches and towns, while the Bos crew try and make semblance out of the chaos gifted us by the World.
Peace be the journey,

Cosmic Bos Improvisation 2 : Sunrise Reflections
We start at the beginning, as everything must, the Time is Now
Cover for Improvisation 2
Sunrise is such a wonderful time of the day,
Time is Now - Cosmic Bos Improvisation
Percussion - Joe Philogene
Electric Guitar & Vocals - Nick Jackson
Acoustic, Synth & Vocals - Andy Jackson
When we begin one of our improvised journeys we have to set the levels of the microphones and things, you know, technical stuff, but the music starts before we can sort out all that. This song is us testing out the recording levels, and it came out alright, so it opens this journey.
Letting the music decide the course of the journey is exciting, and utilising a little bit of editing trickery, we have been able to project sunrises all around us. So our journey begins with Sunrise, the time is now, and our journey will be full of reflections of this opening moment, it's time to come get lost with Cosmic Bos.
Our music makes good meditation music, or just general chilling out, it's relaxing not taxing, thank you for taking the time to explore these awesome creative realms with us, sharing and commenting helps spread the peace and rhythm, we do this for the music.
Check out the full playlist of our improvised musical musings right here courtesy of YouTube (it's this little video site, you might of heard of it)
WoW 2 is taken from Cosmic Bos Improvisation 1: Soundscapes in the Moment
Available everywhere at the moment, you can even find the whole thing right here on youtube, but the best place to hear it without adverts and such is in our podcast feed
And it's right here to, so you don't have to actually go looking anywhere, how nice of us.
Please like, share and subscribe, ding the bell etc.
Also comment, let's get a discussion going over the topics that Wilson was discussing all those years ago, and how relevant they still are to this day.
Also big plug for Prometheus Rising, the book RAW talks about early on in the piece. It's an amazing book and well worth your time.

We hope that our musical fusion with these words of wisdom help to make some of the ideas more palatable to the mind, when you stimulate multiple parts of the brain at the same time you can have some truly astounding effects, building new neural pathways and strengthening your ability to think.
So be wise and watch the whole thing, it may have a profound effect.
Here we present to you an idea that has been banging around for quite a while now, an improvised musical journey with a wise speaker over the top, and where better to start such an idea then with the one and only Terence McKenna.
So for your wisdom today, Cosmic Bos Improvisation presents
Words of Wisdom 1: Terence McKenna and Mark Pesce
Terence McKenna ladies and gentlemen, what a legend.
The Terence and Mark sample is taken from an awesome podcast called the Psychedelic Salon, which has been around for a long time, putting out amazing talks by some brilliant and insightful minds.
Humanity stands at a pivotal point in history, the now moment is changing so rapidly that it appears impossible to have a grasp on reality, we have all been hoodwinked and are stumbling around dazed and confused, but not to worry, for clarity comes once dust settles and calm befalls us all, for the storm can not rage forever, and hate eventually gets tired and goes to sleep for a bit.
Thank you for spending some of your time with us here at the Cosmic Blog, you are wonderful and great things will happen for you, so go get it Tiger (I am obviously assuming that the main audience base for this blog is large cat based, skewing towards Lions, Tigers, Panthers etc. as well as domesticated felines of course, this is for the cats).
Please follow us on all the things, youtube is good, it has that subscribe button and handy bell thing too!
We here at @Cosmic Bos started a new project very recently, we did a test/pilot from which two videos surfaced (Perplexed and Ride the Waves)
and then went straight to series, because we don't wait around for anyone to tell us what to do, we're our own bos!
Joe Philogene on Ngoni and Percussion
Nick Jackson on Electric Guitar
Andy Jackson on Acoustic Guitar and Vocals
The lyric was made up on the spot
it's just...
Pennies, line the jar
Pennies, travelled from afar
Can, can we, accept trouble in ?! (not sure)

and that's it, it's like a low grade version of Money by Pink Floyd, with less cash registers and far less lyrics.

So anyway, please subscribe to our lovely channel for more improvised peacefulness, and also some crazy music videos we made to music we improvised and then revised in a secret lab deep underground run by mole people (that is not just a code name, they are Literally MOLE/people hybrids, we didn't make them, we only employ them at a very reasonable price.)
At the beginning of April, around Easter time, Joe Philogene, Nick Jackson and myself (Andy Jackson) met for a day of improvising music. We had previously tested a day of music together which had produced a couple of exciting improvisations (Perplexed and Ride the Waves) from within our experimentations. This led to the full days improvisation, which subsequently produced almost 2 hours of music, which has been segmented up into 11 songs.
Two of these songs have some words of wisdom placed on top, which you shall get to hear soon, but until then please enjoy this first release from Cosmic Bos Improvisation 1: Soundscapes in the Moment - Like Minded.
We had filmed quite a bit of our days improvising, and there has been some lush sunrises and sunsets recently, so merging these two things made sense. Here are the full lyrics to Like Minded.
LIKE MINDED
Be like the flow of the river
like the wind to the bee
And if that doesn’t work
try being more like me
Be smart as a sweetie
Avoid all hefty fees
Although paper does,
Money don’t come from trees
Like a clerk in an office
Or the girl out to sea
Lonely, if only
They could be here with me
Like rust in the workings
Like sun bleached tapestry
Forgot to remember
What a memory could be
Like radio silence on the TV
Like visual radioactivity
The passive aggression
And stark futility
Remember to always forget
You're worth more then you'll ever get
Remember to always forget
Your meal still isn’t ready yet
I wrote these while sitting on the beach and watching the world go by, the day before we did the recording session. Just a little fun fact for you there.
Please subscribe to us in the various places where such things can occur, instagram is a place where we are, as is youtube and facebook. Or check out our podcast where all our shenanigans of a musical nature find a home. https://cosmicbos.libsyn.com
We will drop a similar video to this one for the song 'Not Babylon or Rome' in the next couple of days, and the full album and podcast version will be along on Saturday 1st May, Hooray!
Here for you is the second improvised song from our improvised pilot session for our new upcoming show Cosmic Bos Improvisation podcast.
A more stripped back and mantra like jam action from your Cosmic Bos then you maybe use to.
Ride the Waves is the second song from our test session, the first being 'Perplexed'. We also recorded a bunch of other stuff on that day, but that's for our ears only (at least until we become mega famous and have special anthologies made about us, and someone unearths from the iCloud the lost songs from the pilot session of the worlds most celebrated podcast)
On Saturday 3rd April 2021 we recorded the first full episode of our improvisation podcast, (take note of the date time travellers) currently untitled, still got a bit of time to come up with a clever title. It was an amazing session, we streamed the middle part of it live on instagram and facebook and sessions all at the same time.
In fact, here it is embedded from facebook
The 5 songs from this live jam will turn up on the improvisation podcast I mentioned earlier in this blog, we have 3 songs from the session we did before the live bit, and 3 songs/bits from the session we did straight after this stream. But these 5 songs exist for you here not too dissimilar to how they will turn up in the future on our first fully improvised album (currently still untitled, I had not managed to come up with a title since starting writing this blog). The 5 songs here are:

Thanks for being amazing
We have an April podcast lined up that is a bit different from what we've done before, it's called 'A Mike Schur thing' where Nick and Andy are going to chat about all things Mike Schur created and related, it should be fun, at least for us it will be, for you, hopefully too.
New horizons are horizoning, improvisation sessions hidden within practices, all good stuff.
We here at Cosmic Bos have been doing some self reflecting, as is customary during lockdown times, and conclusions have been reached about some changes that need to take place. No longer having a master producer has put more onus on us mere musician types to step up to the plate and learn more production skills...we will do our best.
So first of the new deals is this improvisation we did with Joe Philogene, Perplexed
Andy, Nick and Joe had an afternoon of musical whimsy and practice, which led to a handful of purely improvised songs, Perplexed being one of them. We had been having a moment outside where we were discussing how awesome Radiohead are, we even listened to an amazing Acapella version of 15 Steps, so we were feeling rather Thom Yorke inspired when we sat down to jam it out.
This is the leading inspiration for the new show we will launch soon called 'Cosmic Bos Improvisation', it's improvised and then not revised, it's pure improvisation to its core, dropped notes and all. Coming soon in a big way to a podcast page near you.
We have also been practicing up our live skills ready for when the world realises that it needs live music again to help fill the void of virus fear. We have been using an up and coming streaming service called Sessions.
We are doing our practices there, so come along and join our crew.
There is still plenty of Improv-Revisation shenanigans to come, it has not been abandoned, we just have some other things to attend to at this moment.
Our next months podcast will be an experimental new format which we are currently calling 'It's a Mike Schur thing' - where Nick and Andy will discuss their love of all things Mike Schur (creator of Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn99 and The Good Place), looking forward to trying something new.
Until then though, how about you hang around and check out some of our other creative endeavours
We have been going through some big changes here at Cosmic Bos, so we apologise for the lateness of this months podcast episode. But, it's here for you now, and it's listenable just underneath these very words.

Andy and Nick are doing live streaming stuff, which you can check out at sessions, it's a app for live music, check it out :D (I'm not sure how to link to it at present, but it does exist and Cosmic Bos are on it doing live stuff).
We also have our Cosmic Bos/Acoustic Covers series that continues on YouTube,
Nick and Andy have been tinkering around with some cover songs lately, keeps the skills up and reminds them how awesome other writers are, plus just good practice in general for anyone that wants to advance in the field of music.
These chaps want that, the advancing thing, they want it and may I even say, deserve it at this point.
So here is Cosmic Bos Acoustic Covers #1
Live Forever by Oasis
Did you enjoy that?
If so then you may be interested in other things that these fun loving fellas get up to, which is all music based, but also video and podcasting and top secret missions that can not be discussed here in open blogs where anyone (and I mean, anyone!) could be reading...who am I kidding? At this point it is barely being seen by human eyes, a handful at best, the rest of the views are probably robots scanning the text with their cold dead robot eyes looking for clues as to how humanity managed to so royally screw everything up.
So yeah, it's all here in this handy podcast link, you should be able to find everything you are looking for here. https://cosmicbos.libsyn.com

It's getting a bit cold in here now so I'm going to power down and put myself on charge
Rubber gloves are off, it's knuckling down time, time to business like adults, no more playing in the sand pits of despair, no more swinging on the swing of moods, let's year the hell out of this thing, yeah!
Already we are in the second month of 2021, and it's been pretty much a condensed version of 2020, oh boy, just what we always wanted, more pandemic-ammonium, yum yum, that's a medicine I can happily take without a spoonful of sugar.
It's like we are all waiting for something...
Thanks Anya for acting and singing there, amazing performance. Sorry we kept you waiting so long.

You see, we recorded the album that is Cosmic Bos Improv-Revisation Ep.17: Magic Eye Can Believe In all the way back on the 25th of July 2020, with the 3 Bos boys (Macey, Nick and Andy) and Anya Louisa and Ben Bluebird. It was originally slated to be the penultimate episode of Season 2 (2020), but due to unforeseen circumstances it was pushed back to being the first episode of Season 3. On the very next day (26/7/2020) we recorded another record (Cosmic Bos Improv-Revisation Ep.18: Virtual Normality) with Anya and Ben again. This was originally to be the very last episode of Season 2 (2020) but due to the aforementioned unforeseen circumstances it has now been relocated to the second episode of Season 3 (2021).
Best laid plans and all that, you just never know quite how things will go, so, you know you'll never really know, you know!
Sometimes you don't always get what you Aim for. Take it away Anya
Thanks again Anya, a truly awesome single there, something worth sharing with everyone you ever meet. It is available on all platforms, except train platforms as there is no direct video or musical feature to the rail industry.
If you are in need of a link to the full Anya & Ben episode, find it just below these very words, in embedded player form.
The year is set to continue, I don't think time is going anywhere other than forwards at the same speed it's been travelling for a while now. We here at Cosmic Bos have been running some complex tests, tuning some instruments, tweaking some knobs (completely un-music related activity) and have calibrated our equipment to be able to bring you Cosmic Bos Acoustic Covers (CB/AC), starting off proceedings with a little song called Live Forever by Oasis

Season 3 starts with a magic trick, watch as we improvise and then revise an entire album from one days jamming session. It's the same trick we have now pulled 17 times, but it's a good trick and it has a vastly different outcome every time, so, ta dah!
Anya Louisa brings a whole new dimension to the Cosmic Bos set up, and Ben Bluebird spices up the music and vocal atmosphere just lovelily, big thanks to them both.
We tackle the big questions on everyones minds, like, is magic real? do Magicians need dating apps specially designed for their illusionist needs? How should you rub your wicker bells so as not to get blisters on your fingers? All these questions and more won't be answered in this podcast, but they might get discussed, maybe. At least you have 12 improv songs with beautiful vocals by Anya to enjoy.
Here are the two video's that accompany the episode as well, should you wish to view them, once you've finished listening to the episode of course :)
